The years of our adolescence are a learning process which is often spent attempting to discover who we are. It was during these years, that Mikey and Taylor first formed their bond that would transcend the tumultuous times of youth to develop into true love.

Mikey and Taylor both attended Royal High School in Simi Valley, California. Through a group of mutual friends, and a bit of fate, they were introduced to each other during their senior year. The soon to be couple quickly realized that their mutual feelings went beyond friendship, and they took their first step towards what would become a lifelong relationship during their first date at Santa Monica Pier. “We started with a dinner at Bubba Gumps, with a nice view of the beach. After dinner we ventured around the pier, riding the roller coaster, playing ring toss, and riding the Ferris wheel with amazing views of the ocean. We really got to know each other on that first date.”

As their relationship grew so did the realization that their lives would be intertwined forever. “The moment Mikey & I met, I just knew there was something special about him. From the start he was always putting me first, making sure I was OK. There is never a day we aren’t laughing, and my heart and soul doesn’t feel full.”

After 7 years of bonding and discovering how much love they shared, it was finally time to pop the big question in one of the world’s most beautiful locations. “We had a family vacation planned for Maui, Hawaii. I had my best friend build a custom ring box to hold the engagement ring, and found the perfect location at the Botanical Gardens. The rest of the family brought Taylor to the gardens as I waited with the ring box in my hand and a very special question to ask.”

Mikey and Taylor’s fortuitous high school meeting allowed them to find their soulmate at an early age, so it’s only fitting that finding the perfect venue for their big day at Heartstone Ranch in Carpinteria, California turned out to be a somewhat serendipitous affair as well. “We both love the beach so the idea of having our wedding in a beach town was a dream. After the tour we knew this was the place we were meant to get married. We only visited one venue and didn’t need to visit anymore.

Our favorite part of the wedding was the first look where we were able to exchange our private vows. Seeing each other before the ceremony was an amazing moment to take a breath and truly enjoy each other.”

Seven years of love and laughter, topped off with the perfect wedding and their best years are just beginning.
